UK business equipment take-back

This policy covers business-to-business electrical and electronic equipment placed on the UK market and falling within the scope of the WEEE Regulations. Our B2B WEEE responsibilities cover:

  • Equipment that ABI placed on the UK market on or after 13 August 2005.

  • Equipment placed on the UK market before 13 August 2005, regardless of its original manufacturer, where ABI supplies new equipment of an equivalent type or performing the same function.

Where these obligations apply, we finance the required collection, treatment, recovery and environmentally sound disposal through our compliance scheme, unless alternative financing arrangements have been agreed with the business end user.

How to arrange recycling

Please contact ABI before returning equipment so we can confirm eligibility and arrange the appropriate recycling route. Email enquiry@abielectronics.co.uk or telephone +44 (0)1226 207420, providing:

  • Your company name and contact details.

  • The equipment model and serial number, where available.

  • Its approximate purchase date and current location.

  • Details of any older equipment being replaced by a new ABI system.

We will confirm the return destination or collection arrangements, packaging requirements and any agreed transport costs before you proceed. Please do not send equipment to ABI or Wastecare without prior agreement.

What does the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol mean?

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that electrical and electronic equipment must be collected separately from general waste.

Please do not dispose of this equipment in household bins or mixed commercial waste containers. Separate collection allows suitable materials to be recovered and helps ensure hazardous substances are handled correctly.

Customers outside the UK

The arrangements described here apply to equipment placed on the UK market. For equipment supplied outside the UK, please contact ABI or your local distributor for advice on recycling arrangements and the requirements applicable in your country.

If you are unsure whether your ABI equipment has reached the end of its useful life, contact us to discuss available support before arranging disposal.
